Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year Four

Preface Notes: After a full two months of work, finally had permission to leave Qeynos and assistance with gaining citizenship in Freeport. Now setting up laboratory in grand suite at the Bloodhaze Inn; room is rather large, but nothing compared to laboratory in Maj'Dul.

Will have to convince Drathiri to purchase a larger home once established. Dislike not having room for multiple cells and experiments.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year Four

Preface Notes: Not even a full year, and sent request to the Lady's sisterhood to leave Qeynos and assist Moonchild in Freeport. Cannot tolerate Qeynosian squeamishness, cannot tolerate Calisto's continued captivity while I am unable to summon forth servants. Cannot stand the weaknesses of conjured minions, nor their lack of synergy with Calisto and Cassondra's soul's.

Plan to procure room in West Freeport adjacent to Drathiri's, will move laboratory as well - may have to sacrifice having anything but a laboratory to get out of this Mythic forsaken city.

Have stolen books on local Draconics from Concordium while procuring passage to Freeport; hopeful of Mythics' continued existance.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year Four

Preface Notes: So many changes for Maj'dul - contact from larger isle known as Antonica and D'Lere occurred, causing quite a commotion among the citizens.

This year sees assignments of reconnaissance, infiltration into their cities to learn more about their ways, and about what impact they may have on the Lord and Lady's situation.

Also reconnaissance to discover what of the Mythics like Lord Nagafen and Lady Vox remain on these "mainlands"; order fears the worse, and expects no Draconic survivors on the larger isles.

Assigned to a city known as Qeynos as it is apparently the seat of Koada'dal existence. Quickly discovered they dislike Necromancy...not quite sure how long I can hide my professions while here.

Relocating laboratory to home in South Qeynos for now.

Experiment: 13

Subject: 47

Phase: Soul Extraction Surgery, Day 1

Notes: Subject dead. Basic Djinn runes did not break Calisto's bindings. Subject's soul destroyed, collapsed from stress created by the Djinn magic shattering improperly and disrupting the flow of the Lifestream System and other magics in the area.

Corporal shell has been raised as a shadowy stalker, lacks sentience, has been resigned to grounds guard duty; created set path and exclusions list for minion. Left subject in garden, may check on later.

Calisto unable to raise currently. Attempted surgery exhausted psyche. Will use non-sentients for now.

Moonchild unaware of true nature of experiment; Drathiri offered condolences, and treated me to dinner and bloodwine - lacking desire to show appreciation.

Disappointing.

Experiment: 13

Subject: 47

Phase: Pre-Surgery, Day 21

Notes: Subject's body has been purified with sea salts and rain water mixed with lye. Hair has been cut and styled to match Calisto's former style, dyed to her dark brown shade as well. Applied first skin colouration treatment earlier, second applied after lunch, decided to not apply the third as skin colouration is what Calisto's once was.

Basic Draconic wards have been applied with Dervin Ink, in correlating colours; runework included below.

Left patient

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 13

Subject: 47

Phase: Pre-Surgery, Day 19

Notes: Psyche eradication complete. Higher functions have ceased, subject remains largely catatonic. Moonchild has programmed several command responses into subject's mind; a collar of obedience has been secured to subject's neck and will facilitate anything beyond basic bodily functions.

To note, this subject has been the purest yet produced by Moonchild's techniques, and a letter of high praise has been taken to his brethren. Perhaps Lord Siyamak will reward him for diligent services and strengthening of bonds with Lady Barakah's sisterhood.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 13

Subject: 47

Phase: Pre-Surgery, Day 15

Notes: Memor eradication nearly complete, subject believes themselves to be a child of the age of seven. Rarely required to make use of the restraints; subject can be subdued by giving simple dolls and chocolates. Had dark shaman bind a child-spirit to a small feline doll to be \"child's\" companion - makes everything easier.

Side Note: I almost like having a child...almost.

Subject continues to submit self to physical exercises, though simple calisthenics are used for shorter but more frequent periods of time. Question whether child was raised within the Tears or not, believe this to be so...hopefully will not receive retaliation from their ranks.

Moonchild beginning psyche eradication this afternoon. Expects results by next week at latest. Quite satisfied with Drathiri's presence here, and have arranged for a larger guest quarters to be added to estate.

Lady Barakah has provided me with a lexicon on the lesser Djinn languages, designs for hexbreakers will be forthcoming.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 13

Subject: 47

Phase: Pre-Surgery, Day 3

Notes: Recent memory from the past few months has been successfully removed.

Subject believes themselves to still be involved in a Tears mission to eliminate an affluent merchant of the Golden Sceptre. Subject attempted to escape from holding cell, collapsed from physical trauma caused by wards; no permanent damage inflicted, minor concussion from fall.

Moonchild imbuing a smaller set of binding cuffs that will activate upon a triggered command word from either of us. Will stun, petrify, memory blur and root subject until cancellation word is given. Smaller restraints should prevent any further removal and subsequent damage from the cell wards.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 13

Subject: 47

Phase: Pre-Surgery, Day 1

Notes: Began memory eradication process with assistance from Moonchild. Recent memories from the past few days have been removed easily, coercer suspects the past few months will be easily removed at a faster rate thanks to quite a few previous tests.

Will check back tomorrow for more accurate gauge of process time.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 13

Subject: 47

Phase: Pre-Screening, Day 3

Notes: Subject 47 was captured three days ago in the Mid-day Market. Subject is a Dervin female, roughly 23 years of age, accused of being a Tears Assassin. The Blades left her with two broken bones - left tibia and right femur, also sever bruising to forearms, upper arms, shoulders, neck, face, and torso; minor bruising on hips and thighs, mostly from kicking.

Broken bones were set while subject was under forced submission facilitated by Lord Siyamak's servant, Moonchild. Alchemical salves made by coercer were also applied; salves will be reapplied three times per day until subject is healed.

Subject has also had most of their free will surpressed by Moonchild coupled with restraints and an obedience collar, though subject has a slight compulsion that has not been successfully repressed, however it proves to be useful. Subject appears to subject self to strenuous physical acctivites and calisthenics. Monitoring subject during such regiments while subjec recovers to ensure perfect healing.

Subject: 22

Phase: Psyche Eradication System - Personality Removal Process, Day 14

Notes: Returned from the Oasis, refreshed; Subject 22's progress reinforced euphoric feeling - Moonchild has removed any sort of personality from the subject.

Subject remains in a state of autistic catatonia, only ever moving to relieve self in chamber pot or sleep, both actions programmed by Drathiri. Otherwise, subject is an entirely blank slate.

Under my instruction and observation, memories of training from time in Coin lord's harem returned to subject. While still rather bland and lacking in any sort of personality, subject at least useful again; Drathiri claims subject's psyche did change slightly from the insertion of memory, offered to track changes for me, accepted offer.

Subject: 22

Phase: Psyche Eradication System - Personality Removal Process, Day 2

Notes: Moonchild claims conditioning will take several weeks, claims that personality traits will continue to surface as traits are removed, may also create new traits to fill void left by old.

Disappointed at Coercer's sudden ineffeciency, plan to holiday in the Oasis to avoid exploding. Will update upon return.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 5

Subject: 22

Phase: Memory Eradication System - Memory Fragment Removal Process, Day 32

Notes: Subject is devoid of any memory beyond today; thankfully Moonchild chose to instill common functionality in the subject, so there are no unsightly messes. Subject cannot remember how to talk, however, nor any form of language comprehension.

Consider experiment a success. Will use same subject for psyche eradication experiment - despite lack of memory, Subject 22 retains a distinct personality; unfortunate, but expected.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 5

Subject: 22

Phase: Memory Eradication System - Long-Term Memory Removal Process, Day 26

Notes: A slow but steady change has taken place in Subject 22 - subject has gone from flamboyant bard to demure serving girl to something akin to a feline.

Moonchild claims she has vague memories of her childhood, being raised on the streets of Maj'dul, however it seems she is attempting to cling to them; the past few sessions have been a battle to remove a single memory let alone the last few she possess.

Fragments remain from prior memories removed, subject often will temporarily revert to one of her former personae, however the subject then seems disjointed and unrealistic, much like a madman.

Coercer will try to eliminate these as well. So far...so good.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 5

Subject: 22

Phase: Memory Eradication System - Mid-Term Memory Removal Process, Day 13

Notes: Subject 22 has been regressed to the point of believing herself to be a teenager again. Discovered the girl is actually a run away from one of the Coin lord's harem's, never actually did anything she claims to have.

Subject waits on myself and Moonchild without an obedience collar, always egar to dress us, bathe us, and prepare our food. Enjoying the luxuries while they last, as the next phase of removal will probably remove such training from subject's mind.

Wish to have subject restored to this at some point - Moonchild will take notes of how subject was trained to reinsert later on after the experiment has concluded.

Moonchild claims to have successfully isolated the instinctual parts of subject's memory, however believes there is little instinctual in these more recent ages of memory. Will press for confirmation as experiment progresses.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 5

Subject: 22

Phase: Memory Eradication System - Short Term Memory Removal Process, Day 5

Notes: While I cannot actually witness everything Moonchild is doing to Subject 22, as most of it takes place within their minds, I debrief the coercer daily on his techniques.

Moonchild claims to have removed the past four weeks from subject's memory, verified this by trying to get the subject to retell her last story to me, only to find it was not the story she told on her day of capture, but the one overheard a few weeks prior.

Took several days to erase this much, suspect it will take longer than one month to eliminate all 20 or so years from subject's mind. May need to consider better accomodations for coercer, perhaps have a small section of the gardens made over for his use.

Calisto dislikes Moonchild, not surprising - she dislikes anyone that is given more than a moment of my time. Will have to establish the need for the coercer to Calisto.

Phase: Memory Eradication System Formulation, Day 2

Notes: Again graced by Lord Siyamak, Moonchild has returned for an extended stay - suspects at minimum a month visit, perhaps more. Had one of the sitting rooms turned into a guest bedroom for him, will have Subject 19 install baths tomorrow.

Focus of current experiment is to remove the memory of a sentient being entirely, leaving them a clean slate for manipulation. Also going to test how personality is altered by the introduction of false memories, etc.

Moonchild has outlined the basic process of memory eradication, starting with recent memories and slowly progressing backward until no memory exists. Believes he can isolate memory from instinct without any trouble, which will leave the subject in a rather pure form aside from their personality.

Looking forward to testing this. Found a rather hyper active Dervish woman, bardic in nature, told stories of her adventures down in the gardens of the Golden Sceptre. Perfect subject for experiment.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 3

Subject: 5, 7, 10, 14, 17, 3

Phase: Control Systems Testing, Day 7

Notes: Obedience collars work like a dream - laboratory, kitchens, pantries, sitting rooms and parlors, bedrooms all sparkling clean as a result. Gardens will be done soon as well, without the costly fees of that damnable froglok gardener.

Tested restraints on Subject 3. Moonchild subdued subject while restraints were placed, then joined me in the observation loft - Subject 7 was returned and ordered to strip naked and pose in chair before control of Subject 3 was released.

Subject 3 rushed for the woman lustfully, command word was called out and man was stunned, petrified and rooted in place for duration of experiment. Obedience collar affixed to Subject 3's neck before cancellation word was given, ordered back into cell.

Consider experiment success; treated Drathiri to dinner for appreciation of his assistance.

Experiment: 3

Subject: None

Phase: Control Systems Trinket Creation, Day 4

Notes: Watched Moonchild work on formulae; added second desk to laboratory for him to use.

Enchanting spell structure and syllables structure is a bit confusing, but I can generally follow his thoughts.

Several obedience collars made, each set with a thoughtstone created by the coercer; Moonchild attempted to appeal to the woman in me by creating several styles in gold, electrum, palladium, rhodium and acrylia. Amused and actually quite grateful for the forethought - I do prefer my subjects, minions and pets look their best.

Look forward to the completion of the trinkets, and their testing phase; aquired several Dervish whores, theifs and madmen to test them on.

Subject: None

Phase: Control Systems Formulation, Day 1

Notes: Lord Siyamak has granted Moonchild permission to work on an experiment with me for an extended period of time. Exhalted Lady Barakah for her blessings and assistance in procuring the Night Lord's assistance.

The focus of this experiment is to develop extended time period restaraint and control that will not require Moonchild's constant attentions or the shadow knight retinue's presence.

Our first concern is restraint. Currently unable to move most subjects without aid from Moonchild, stronger minions and/or the shadow knights.

Debate and discussion came to the conclusion that metal anklets and bracers need to be imbued with stun or petrification and rooting spells that will be triggered by verbal command word. Lady Barakah has jewelers that can make the cuffs for experiment, and subsequent sets needed.

Moonchild des not believe these trinkets can be entirely pre-enchanted, however he has volunteered to apply the restraints any time I require them.

Second concern easily fixed - obedience collars are common items coercers are taught to create. Moonchild can create these immediately, and at any time I require them.

Touched briefly upong reprogramming and total mind/psyche wipes and permanency of such. Moonchild theorizes it is possible but very complicated and time consuming.

Steps towards Calisto's restoration moving forward at a steady rate. Comforting.

Experiment: 2

Subject: 3

Phase: Lifestream System Observation Period - Second Attempt, Day 45

Notes: Subject has not changed much since rune patterns were applied. Muscle loss reversed by daily calisthenics forced upon subject by coercer.

Subject mental health is questionable, however not a concern at this point in time; may be cause for concern in future experiments, however.

Moonchild gave congratulations by giving a bottle of rare bloodwine; vintage was spiked with Djinn essences; appreciation was conveyed.

Placing Subject 3 on extended observation; will update in another 45 days.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 2

Subject: 3

Phase: Lifestream System Observation Period - Second Attempt, Day 13

Notes: Subject is stable, with minimal weight loss and muscular deterioration.

Moonchild coerced subject through a serious of rigorous calisthenics for an extended period of time. Subject finally collapsed after three hours of continuous work.

Conferred with dark shaman; observation will continue for at least one additional month. May continue permanently until subject dies.

Encouraged by results thusfar.

Side Notes: Need to work with Moonchild on a more reliable control system.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 2

Subject: 3

Phase: Lifestream System Rune Application - Second Attempt, Day 1

Notes: Lord Siyamak has provided to me not only the services of his coercer, but also that of four shadow knights; Subject 3 is unfortunately quite violent and willful.

Subject had to be restrained with metal cuffs rather than the leather ones previously used. Moonchild then rendered the subject unconcious for the entire runic application process.

Subject is strong enough for scarification. Rune patteres were carved into subject's flesh, dyed with Dervin Ink and then cauterized with warm sea salt water.

Shadow knight retinue to stay for duration of experiment; housing them in the storage basements.
Experiment: 2

Subject: None

Phase: Lifestream System Rune Creation - Second Attempt, Day 1

Notes: Explained runic patterns to dark shaman; determined that subjects would need more magical strengthening.

Incorporated more highly altered dark druzaic rune patterns based on my grisly rites and strength siphoning spells and also added more patterns based on shaman's strenthening spells, healing wards and rites and protective spells. Runic patterns included below; application will be similar to prior experiment but more extensive.

The coercer, Moonchild, brought me an extremely strong and healthy half-barbarian for a subject. His efforts are noted and greatly appreciated.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 1

Subject: 2

Phase: Lifestream System Observation Period, Day 12

Notes: Removed squeamish shaman from project; he makes a lovely guard for the laboratory, despite his quite boney complection. Perfect research assistant, never complains about hours or pay or lack of lunch period. Delighted to have the assistance.

Lor Siyamak's coercer brought one of his brethren to me, a more respectable shaman not afraid to make sacrifices in the name of arcane science advancement.

Subject 2 is alive, however subject is catatonic for most of the day. Subject has lost a considerable amout of weight over the past twelve days, their body is dropping in temperature and hydration levels as well.

Suspect subject will die...eventually; back to the drawing board.

Sunchild's Laboratory Journal, Year One

Experiment: 1

Subject: 2

Phase: Lifestream Rune Application, Day 3

Notes: Premature death of the first subject has held back the application phase. Found a second subject, healthier but not as healthy as I would like.

Subject consented to procedures; prepped subject by cleansing in rain water and sea salt. Also had squeamish shaman use all curing spells possible on subject to purge as much impurity as possible.

Squeamish shaman against carving the runes into subject's flesh, believes it should never need to be used permanently. Scribed runes in dark Dervish Ink instead.

Informed subject that by the end of the week, all food and drink will be cut off. Subject panicked, but was subdued easily by a coercer sent by Lord Siyamak

Phase: Lifestream Rune Creation

Notes: Further investigation of magical forces created by raising the dead revealed intense connections not only to Ethernere, but also to the general life forces in the immediate area.

Certain druzaic runes tap these forces as well, used for various necromantic spells.

Conferring with shaman, who agrees with observations; suspects that a combination of these rune patterns may create a magical life sustaining system.

Combined dark druzaic runs used in life siphoning spells, altered undead raising run epatters along with light druzaic runs use din healing wards, rites and sacred food summoning along with antitoxin spells. Rune patters are diagramed below as seperate entities and as finished runes.

Applications of runes will be made to the stomach, above the heart, groin and throat. Additional applications will be made to the mid and lower sides of back.

Need to fetch test subject; must avoid visible coercion. Would like to test on strong and healthy subject, but shaman believes project to be a \"noble\" effort to save terminally ill Dervishes from final death while being treated. Subject must be ill, unfortunately.

Requesting assistance from Lord Siyamak's coercers for retrieval.
